About Me
Margaux Labossière is a Franco-Manitoban dance artist, choreographer, and educator whose work explores storytelling, embodiment, nature, and human connection through movement. A graduate of Toronto Metropolitan University’s Performance Dance program, she received both the Pamela Hackett Excellence in Dance Award and the Orly Watkin Dance Award for her artistic and academic achievements.
As a performer, Margaux has worked nationally and internationally, performing works by acclaimed choreographers including Peggy Baker, Anne Plamondon, Alysa Pires, Vicki St-Denys, Roberto Olivan, and Merce Cunningham. Her professional development has been shaped by scholarships, residencies, and intensive training opportunities with leading organizations including Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company (Israel), Metamorphosis Dance Company (Spain), Deltebre Dansa (Spain), Transformation Danse (Montréal), and Alias Dance Project (Toronto), where she collaborated with internationally recognized artists from across Europe and North America.
From 2020–2024, Margaux served as Assistant Director and company dancer with SQx Dance Company, touring throughout Canada, the United States, and Europe while contributing to large-scale dance education and community-engaged initiatives. Her work included helping deliver a Canadian Heritage-funded program that reached more than 30,000 students nationwide, as well as international projects in Portugal and the Azores through Erasmus+ partnerships.
Since returning to Winnipeg, Margaux has become an active contributor to Manitoba’s dance community. Recent performance highlights include Signals to Siege at NAFRO’s International Dance Festival and Accumulation with Winnipeg Contemporary Dancers. She is currently collaborating with celebrated Canadian artist Margie Gillis on The Whole Blooming Thing, premiering in Winnipeg in November 2026.
Alongside her performance career, Margaux is a passionate educator and choreographer dedicated to fostering technical excellence, creativity, and confidence in the next generation of dancers.
